Imperial College
fdcreative were appointed to undertake the lighting design of a new Flexible Bar Area, Activity room and front of house entrance which was specifically for the college lecturers and PHD students to use and relax in. The Brief was to come up with a scheme that provided an ability to allow the college to use the space for various functions and as a bar/restaurant space, for this we designed a scheme that was flexible and allows the space to be fully controlled via a dedicated lighting control system linked back to their building management system.
Energy saving was a main concern for the college and through the use of the latest LED technology we have been able to provide the college with a fully sustainable energy efficient lighting scheme while also providing a scheme which can be both dynamic and atmospheric.
We worked closely with the Berman Guedes Stretton Architects in London to develop the lighting concept that met with the aspirations of the college.
